The Clarges
A pear-shaped diamond in three claws, with a V-claw protecting the point.
The pear is a teardrop: round at one end, pointed at the other. The Clarges holds it in two round claws and a V-claw over the tip, which is the part of a pear most likely to chip. Worn point towards the nail, it lengthens the finger.
