Audley Diamonds

Questions and answers

Are laboratory-grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. They are carbon crystallised in the same structure as earth-mined diamonds, with the same hardness, brilliance and chemistry. The difference is origin, not material.

Can anyone tell which kind I have?

Not by looking. Laboratory-grown and earth-mined diamonds of the same grades look identical, even to a jeweller with a loupe. Telling them apart takes specialist laboratory equipment. Most laboratory-grown stones also carry a microscopic inscription on the girdle, visible only under magnification. Your box, pouch and presentation card carry only the Audley name.

Will you always tell me which kind of diamond I am buying?

Always. The origin is stated on the product page, your order confirmation, your receipt and your grading report.

Do you hold stock?

No. Every piece is made to order around a diamond chosen for you. That is how we keep prices fair and offer such a wide choice of stones.

How long does it take?

Collection pieces take four to six weeks. Bespoke commissions take five to seven weeks from design approval.

Can I see a diamond before I buy?

Yes. We send the grading report, photographs and video of the actual stone before you pay. You can also view it in person in central London by appointment.

Do you offer finance?

Not at the moment. After your consultation we email you a secure payment link, and you can pay by card or bank transfer. We do not accept cash.

What if the ring does not fit?

Resizing within two sizes is free for life, except for full eternity rings, which cannot be resized.

Do you deliver outside the UK?

Not yet. We deliver within the UK, insured, and you can collect in central London.
